The Canyons fourth annual Pond Skimming and Raggae Festival was cancelled this past Saturday due to the excessive snowfall amounts.
Despite being one of the biggest events of the year, there were hardly any complaints. People got to play in the well needed powdery goodness.
If you’re still interested in testing your skill across the 100-foot pond, or just watching the pond swallow competitor after competitor, come out this Saturday the 14th.
Registration is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the carnage will begin a noon. It will only cost you $45, or $25 with a season pass. Only the first 100 to register will compete, so don’t be late.
The pond is set up at the top of the gondola in front of the Red Pine Lodge where spectators can enjoy lounge chair viewing with a beverage of choice, or along the side of the pond.
If you plan on competing, a costume is mandatory and prizes will be given to the best one. Also best crash and splash awards are on the line.
So if you think you have what it takes to conquer the pond get your tails out to the Canyons this Saturday for some hard core pond skimmin’ and raggae rhythm.
